How does the Double Nozzle work?
Research shows that the smallest droplets in a
spray cloud have the best effect in killing insect and weed pests, but the larger droplets are
needed to create a spray cloud capable of penetrating the canopy. Nearly
all of the chemical in the larger droplets is wasted. The Double Nozzle
works by putting active ingredient ONLY in the smaller droplets that have
an effect on the target. This way less AI is wasted. The Double Nozzle
system puts the same or a little more AI on the target as a conventional
single nozzle sprayer operated at the same speed and pressure, but puts a
lot less AI on the ground.
|
Is the Double Nozzle system compatible with my spray controller?
The Double Nozzle system is compatible with all modern controllers. Call or
email Info@Spray-Redux.com for an
up-to-date list.
|
How long will I wait for delivery of a Double Nozzle kit?
Shipping is usually within two days of receipt of an order. We ship UPS
ground, so you can expect to receive your kit within one week.
|
What chemicals does the Double Nozzle system work with?
The Double Nozzle is compatible with nearly all chemical and
biorational pesticides. Most active ingredients can be reduced by 50%
without loss of efficacy. Some can be reduced still further. Call or email
Info@Spray-Redux.com for an
up-to-date list.
|
What chemicals does the Double Nozzle system NOT work with?
We have not yet found a herbicide or insecticide the Double Nozzle system
does not work with. But there is a small number of chemicals we do not
recommend reductions greater than 30%. None are commonly used on broad
acre crops.
|
Does the Double Nozzle system work with fungicides?
We have only limited data on the compatibility of fungicides. So far, the
indications are very good, but we do NOT recommend reduced rates on
fungicides at this time. The Double Nozzle system can, however, be used
to deliver fungicides at conventional rates.
|
What does the warranty cover?
Spray Redux's products are stainless steel and carry a lifetime warranty.
The nozzle bodies and tips we use are covered by their manufacturers'
warranties.
|
What happens to the chemical producer's warranty?
At present the chemical producers are not selling active ingredients
specifically for the Double Nozzle system. Until they do, they will not
compensate users of their products for losses incurred when their chemicals
are used at less than label rate.
|
What modifications to my sprayer will I need to make?
The Double Nozzle kit components are bolt-on and will require little
modification to your sprayer. However, because the system employs two parallel
spraying systems, you will need to purchase an extra tank and pump. Spray
Redux will be pleased to advise you on your choice of tank and can supply a
wide range of Hypro pumps.
Another solution not requiring an extra tank and pump employs an on-the-fly
metering system such as Raven's Sidekick. Call or email
Info@Spray-Redux.com to learn more
about this option.
|
What special training do I need to operate the Double Nozzle sprayer?
No special training is required to operate the Double Nozzle system. However,
because you will be using two parallel sprayers and the fine spray uses very fine
nozzles, some extra care and attention will be needed to operate your sprayer at
maximum efficiency. You will need to flush you active spray lines after each use
and examine your nozzles regularly and replace them if necessary.
|
Will I increase drift with the Double Nozzle sprayer?
You will not increase drift with the Double Nozzle relative to a conventional
single nozzle sprayer if the Double Nozzle system is installed correctly and
used properly. Because there will be only half the active ingredient being
used, there will be less AI to drift. You should follow label guidelines on
what weather conditions are appropriate for spraying whatever sprayer you use.
